Continental Realty Corporation (CRC), a Baltimore-based real estate investment and management company, has announced the promotion of Malcolm Anderson to Service Manager for Central Island Square in Daniel Island, South Carolina. Mr. Anderson was previously CRC’s Service Manager for The Village Apartments in Raleigh, North Carolina.

In his new position, Mr. Anderson will focus on a wide variety of responsibilities to assure the proper service operations of Central Island Square, a mixed-use project containing 313 multifamily units and nearly 30,000 square feet of retail space. His role will include overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of common areas, handling service calls to address the needs of residents, and directing capital improvement projects. Mr. Anderson will also train team members and supervise activities of third-party vendors.

Situated at 50 Central Island Street adjacent to Interstate 526 (Mark Clark Expressway), Central Island Square consists of two, three-story and two, four-story buildings. Featuring studio, one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units, as well as six townhomes, the mixed-use project was acquired by CRC earlier this year. Community amenities include an outdoor resort-style swimming pool, a community clubhouse equipped with a state-of-the-art fitness center and dedicated yoga and group exercise mezzanines, and an outdoor hammock garden and tranquility courtyard.

Mr. Anderson’s career with CRC began in 2010 at Brookview Apartments in Baltimore, where he oversaw the operation of 158 apartments and managed the activities of two employees over the course of five years. He transitioned to Falls Village Apartments, where he spent four years managing four team members and maintaining 320 apartments. Mr. Anderson was subsequently selected to handle service responsibilities for The Village Apartments, a 300-unit multifamily community in Raleigh, where he also supervised a capital improvement project that entailed a project-wide renovation, the addition of amenities including a cycle studio and package lockers, and the expansion of the dog park.

Mr. Anderson attended The Community College of Baltimore County and has earned certifications and training in several specialty areas, including workplace safety. He is also a graduate of CRC’s Leadership Development Program.

“Central Island Square, is a highly-complex development and we believe Malcolm’s organizational skills, ability to manage vendors, and attention to detail make him the ideal professional for this assignment,” explained Scott Hamlin, Vice President, Multifamily for CRC. “He has proven to be the consummate team player across several relocations and his quest for continued growth demonstrates his commitment to the organization.”
