480 Biomedical Raises $17.9 Million
Watertown, Mass.-based 480 Biomedical Inc. has raised $17.9 million via sale of shares to 11 investors, according to an SEC filing.
In 2012, the company closed a $15 million Series A financing from Polaris Venture Partners, North Bridge Venture Partners and Durham, N.C.-based InterSouth Partners.
The biotechnology company focuses on the development of a bioresorbable scaffold for treating disease in the superficial femoral artery. The company is led by CEO Duke Collier.
Collier is a senior adviser to Polaris Venture Partners and serves as executive chairman of Arsenal Medical. Prior to 480 Biomedical, he served as president of Vitas Healthcare, a partner at the Washington, D.C.-based law firm of Hogan and Hartson.
