Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Amy E. Puckett and Nathan P. Viebrock, attorneys in the firm’s Charlotte office and in the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group, have been accepted into the 2018 class of the Mecklenburg County Bar (MCB) Bar Leadership Institute (BLI).

The BLI’s primary focus is to identify and develop leaders for the MCB and Mecklenburg Bar Foundation. Participants, who have been practicing law for at least three years, have demonstrated commitment and motivation to serve in leadership positions and have a record of service to the public and charitable organizations.

Ms. Puckett and Mr. Viebrock both are also members of Bradley’s Privacy, Security, and Innovation team, which is part of the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group.

Ms. Puckett focuses her practice on data privacy, consumer protection, financial services regulatory compliance, and employment law. She counsels clients on a variety of privacy and information security compliance issues, including data breach response and notification requests. Prior to joining Bradley, she clerked for Judge William L. Osteen Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Ms. Puckett received her J.D. (cum laude) from Wake Forest University School of Law, her Master of Arts from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) from Davidson College.

Ms. Puckett serves as a custody advocate and pro bono attorney for the Council for Children’s Rights. In addition, she serves as the Vice Chair and Chair-Elect of the Wake Forest University School of Law Rose Counsel, which is an alumni group that encourages recent graduates to increase their involvement in the law school by volunteering, attending law school events, staying informed, and giving back.

Mr. Viebrock counsels clients on building compliant financial products and services that serve the best interests of their organizations and consumers, as well as navigating government investigations involving legacy products and services. He also counsels clients looking to offer financial services through digital channels that are convenient for consumers, but also comply with consumer finance regulations. Prior to joining Bradley, he worked as an enforcement attorney and outreach associate at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Mr. Viebrock received his J.D. (cum laude) from the University of Georgia and his Bachelor of Science from Ithaca College.

Mr. Viebrock also maintains an active pro bono practice with particular attention to representing indigent litigants in civil disputes.
