Raleigh-based CompostNow Raises $300,000

11/30/17

A Raleigh-based composting company has raised $300,000, according to two Form D filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday.

The initial filing shows CompostNow Inc. raised $225,000. The latter filing shows the company raised the additional $75,000.

As of now, the company has not publicly stated it plans to raise more funds, nor has it intended what it will do with the already-raised funds.

The company, founded in 2012, encourages consumers to compost their waste, providing them with bins and pickup service, and later, their compost turned into soil.

Presently, CompostNow, which partners with Brooks Contractor and Danny’s Dumpster, operates within the Triangle and Asheville regions of North Carolina, according to the company’s website.

Companies relying on a Reg D exemption do not have to register their offering of securities with the SEC, but must file what’s known as a Form D electronically with the SEC after they first sell their securities.

The filings can be found here.
