Charlotte-based Craft Brewery Hopes to Raise $1 Million

11/13/17

Blue Blaze Brewing Inc., a craft brewery located in the west end of Charlotte, wants to raise $1 million, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The brewery was founded in 2013 by Craig Nunn and Sven Giersmann, and it opened the micro brewing facility in Charlotte in June 2016.

Master brewer Steve Turner moved from Colorado to join the company. He is a Master Brewers Association of Americas member, a five-time GABF & World Beer Cup medal winner, and was recently a Colorado State University fermentation science & technology instructor.

The offering comes in the form of equity, and the minimum investment being accepted by an outside investor is $25,000. It is not being made in connection with a business combination transaction, such as a merger, acquisition or exchange offer.

Blue Blaze focuses on using locally-sourced and pesticide-free ingredients whenever possible. It currently produces five flagship beers and a rotating selection of seasonal and specialty beers.

Companies relying on a Reg D exemption do not have to register their offering of securities with the SEC, but they must file what’s know as a Form D electronically with the SEC after they first sell their securities.
