Premier CEO Susan DeVore Received a 6.1 Percent Decrease in Compensation in 2017

Premier Inc. decreased the total compensation of its chief executive officer by 6.1 percent during the fiscal 2017 year, according to a filing Wednesday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Susan DeVore received $6,214,665 in total compensation during the year, down from $6,619,843 in fiscal 2016. The Charlotte-based company’s fiscal year ends June 30.

DeVore’s base salary did not change during the year. Her stock awards increased by 33 percent to $3,520,113 from $2,640,061.

Her non-equity incentive plan compensation decreased by 35 percent from $1,142,603 to $743,128.

During the 2017 fiscal year, the company reported net revenue of $1.45 billion, a 25 percent increase for the year.

DeVore has served as president and CEO of Premier, since May 2013.

She formerly served as the chief operating officer, leading its four business units.

Current chief operating officer, Michael Alkire, also saw a decrease in total compensation for 2017. He received $3,736,670, a 6.6 percent decline from $4,001,325.

Both executives’ compensation has declined yearly since 2015.

Premier is a health care improvement company, working with approximately 3,900 U.S. hospitals and more than 150,000 other provider organizations.

The company’s annual meeting will be held Dec. 1 in Charlotte.

Premier’s shares closed Tuesday at $33.83, up 15 cents.
