Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Bottler Acquires Territories, Facilities

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated announced that is completed transactions with the Coca-Cola Co. to exchange distribution territory.

The company acquired territory in central and southern Arkansas in exchange for distribution territory in parts of southern Alabama, southwestern Georgia, southeastern Mississippi and northwestern Florida and Kentucky.

The Charlotte-based bottler acquired manufacturing facilities in Memphis, Tennessee and West Memphis, Arkansas in exchange for transferring a manufacturing facility in Mobile, Alabama.

Coca-Cola Bottling also acquired distribution territory in Spartanburg and Bluffton, South Carolina, for transferring distribution territory in parts of Alabama, Tennessee and Mississippi.

Coke Consolidated is the largest independent Coca-Cola bottler in the United States.

The company makes, sells and distributes beverages of Coca-Cola and other partner companies in more than 300 brands and flavors across 15 states to over 66 million consumers.

Coca-Cola Bottling Co.’s shares, traded under the ticker symbol “COKE,” closed at $220.45 on Wednesday, up $1.45, or 0.66 percent, for the day.
