Bradley Attorney Erin Jane Illman Appointed to NCBA's Privacy and Data Security Committee

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that Erin Jane Illman, CIPP/US, an attorney in the firm’s Charlotte office, has been appointed to the Privacy and Data Security Committee of the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) for 2017-18.

The Privacy and Data Security Committee focuses on the expanding issues of privacy and cybersecurity law that are impacting the public and the legal profession. The committee also monitors and addresses issues relative to the new specialty certification in Privacy and Information Security Law that has been proposed by the North Carolina State Bar and the bar’s Board of Legal Specialization.

Ms. Illman is an ANSI Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) with more than a decade of experience representing corporate entities, technology companies and financial institution clients in a wide variety of regulatory compliance, litigation and contract matters. Combining her technology, financial and corporate entity experience, she focuses her practice on helping companies navigate a variety of privacy and information security compliance issues, including compliance advice relating to the development of new digital products and services; drafting and reviewing privacy-related policies and procedures and consumer-facing privacy notices; performing gap analysis and risk assessments related to the handling of sensitive data; oversight and review of third-party agreements and vendor privacy compliance programs; and ensuring existing products, services and marketing activities comply with privacy-related regulations.
