Premier CEO DeVore Sells $1.4 Million in Stock

The chief executive officer of health care company Premier Inc. sold $1.4 million worth of stock earlier this week, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Susan DeVore sold 40,000 shares of the Charlotte-based company on Tuesday at a price of $35.24 per share.

She still owns more than 390,000 shares of the company valued at approximately $13.8 million.

In addition, Chief Operating Officer Michael Alkire sold $1.75 million shares this week. He sold 50,000 shares at $35.17 apiece on Monday, according to another SEC filing.

Premier is an alliance of approximately 3,750 U.S. hospitals and 130,000 other providers that works to provide better care and outcomes at a lower cost.

DeVore has been president and CEO of Premier since May 2013. She also serves as the chief executive officer and president of Premier Healthcare Alliance LP.

She previously served as the chief operating officer of Premier Inc. and led its four business units: Premier Purchasing Partners LP; Healthcare Informatics; Premier Consulting Solutions and Premier Insurance Management Services Inc.

She has more than 20 years experience in health care as a hospital finance director and longtime leader within Cap Gemini Ernst & Young.

Premier’s shares closed Wednesday at $35.29, down 4 cents.
