Windsor Run, the Erickson Living retirement community under construction, has named George Comfort as its first Executive Director.

Since 2014, Mr. Comfort has served as the Associate Executive Director of Ann’s Choice, a sister community located in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.  Prior to joining Erickson Living, he was the Executive Director of NorthBay, LLC, one of the largest and most innovative residential environmental education centers in the nation.

Officially assuming his new role on August 7, Mr. Comfort will provide overall operational leadership for the 60-acre campus.  Scheduled to open in the spring of 2018, demand for the unique services and amenities to be offered at Windsor Run has been strong.  Sixty-five percent of the apartment homes in its independent living neighborhood are already reserved, and 125 future residents have joined the Priority List this year.

“Having worked for both medium-sized and Fortune 500 companies, George has a well-rounded background in business as well as the nonprofit sector,” stated Mr. Kerry Jones, Vice President of Corporate Operations for Erickson Living.  “His strong executive experience is complemented by his broad resume in large account sales and marketing.  He even completed a two-year international assignment living and working in Europe.”

Mr. Comfort holds an M.A. degree in management of aging services from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a B.S. degree in computer science and math from Vanderbilt University.  He is one course shy of an M.A. in counseling from the University of Cincinnati.  

He serves on the Board of Directors for NorthBay, a non-profit environmental education organization located in North East, Maryland that devotes its resources to underserved students from the mid-Atlantic region.
