Sonic Automotive Directors Buy and Sell Shares

A director of Sonic Automotive sold 4,500 shares, while another director purchased an additional 5,00 shares on March 21.

Eugene Taylor purchased 5,000 shares at a price of $20.51, spending $102,573, and Victor Doolen sold 4,500 at $20.42 per share, profiting $91,878, according to Form 4s filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Taylor has been a director of Sonic since February 2015 and has a background in the banking industry. He now directly owns 12,242 shares in the company worth approximately $250,000.

Doolen has been a director of Sonic since July 2005 and has served as the president and CEO of Volvo Cars North America, along with multiple other leadership positions in the automotive industry. He now directly owns 5,899 shares in the company worth approximately $120,000.

Sonic Automotive was launched as a public company in November 1997 and has grown to be one of the largest automotive retailers in the U.S. They have over 100 dealerships across 13 states and 25 major metropolitan markets.

Sonic Automotive shares closed on March 21 at $19.90, down 60 cents, or 2.93 percent, for the day.
