Cresa Acquires Office in Charlotte

3/21/17

Cresa, the world’s largest tenant rep commercial real estate advisory firm, has announced the acquisition of Mohr Partners in Charlotte, NC, which has been established as Cresa’s new office in Charlotte under the leadership of Managing Principals Jack Glasgow and Scott Dumler.  Glasgow and Dumler, residents of Charlotte with a combined 30 years’ experience in commercial real estate, formerly served as Managing Principals of Mohr.

The new office, Cresa Carolinas, is based at 2115 Rexford Road in Charlotte’s SouthPark submarket.  Cresa Carolinas will serve corporate office and industrial tenants and space occupiers in all industry sectors in North and South Carolina.

Glasgow, who started his career at Cushman & Wakefield specializing in tenant representation, was also a member of the original Cresa Carolinas office before joining Mohr.  Prior to Mohr, Dumler led industrial leasing for a regional developer, Beacon Partners, in Charlotte.

Cresa is actively recruiting talent for the new office, with plans this year to add a total of seven advisors in Charlotte combined with a new office that will open in Raleigh, NC.

“We joined Cresa because it is the world’s largest and best-in-class tenant-only advisory firm,” said Glasgow.  “I have always respected Cresa’s platform of only representing tenants, not landlords, and thereby avoiding inevitable conflicts of interest.  We provide unbiased advisory services, putting the interests of our clients first, something that the larger traditional, full-service real estate firms can’t match.”

“We believe in Cresa’s collaborative and strategic approach, and we are well-positioned to grow our office with the help of Cresa’s national and global resources,” said Dumler.  “We will also add value to clients by leveraging Cresa’s platform of integrated corporate services, including strategic consulting, portfolio management, lease administration, and project management.”

Cresa’s numerous clients in the region include organizations in financial services, manufacturing/distribution, healthcare, engineering, energy and environmental, and technology/life sciences.

According to Jim Underhill, Cresa CEO, “The Carolinas provide a rich market for Cresa, with Charlotte and Raleigh home to hundreds of Fortune 500 companies.”

Underhill said the Carolinas office opening is part of a larger Cresa growth initiative, including the expected announcement of another new office acquisition next week, which is enabled by Cresa’s recent capitalization.  “We now have the infrastructure and investment capacity in place to expand significantly through acquisitions and recruitment,” he added.  “Our goal is to double our workforce and revenue within five years.”  He added, “We’re looking for committed, like-minded professionals like Jack and Scott to help lead this growth initiative.”

Glasgow graduated from the University of Georgia and is a member of the Charlotte Regional Commercial Board of Realtors (CRCBR).  Dumler, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is a member of CRCBR, and has served on boards for various nonprofits in the area.
