Asana Partners REIT Raises $125,000

Real estate investment trust Asana Partners Fund I LLC of Charlotte has raised $125,000 in equity, according to a Jan. 31 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The REIT is associated with real estate investment company Asana Partners which on Jan. 26 announced it had successfully raised the $500 million in equity and pooled investment it had sought since a Nov. 14 filing with the SEC. At the time of the Nov. 14 filing, the company had raised $280 million of the $500 million goal.

“The speed at which we met our cap highlights investor confidence in Asana’s differentiated retail real estate operating capabilities,” said Jason Tompkins, president and chief operating officer of Asana.

According to company’s website, the fund received investments from state, municipal and corporate pension funds as well as from insurance companies and endowments. A quarter of the fund’s equity has already been invested or committed to retail markets in Washington, D.C., Charlotte, Atlanta, and Austin.

Asana Partners was founded in 2015 by Terry Brown, Jason Tompkins, and Sam Judd. Brown is chief executive officer was previously held the title at Edens, a leading real estate development company.

According to the filing, the REIT already has 125 investors.
