Bill Holt to Lead First Tennessee Bank’s Mid-Atlantic Region

1/10/17

Bill Holt, a banker with more than 25 years of experience in North Carolina, is the new president of First Tennessee Bank’s Mid-Atlantic region.  Holt has held high-profile leadership roles with Wachovia, Wells Fargo, SunTrust and Live Oak Bank.  Most recently he worked with First Tennessee as a consultant on the bank’s five-year Mid-Atlantic strategic plan.

First Tennessee’s Mid-Atlantic region includes Greenville, Winston-Salem, Charlotte and Raleigh, N.C.; Richmond, Va.; Charleston, S.C.; and Jacksonville, Fla.

A graduate of Furman University, Holt has long been an active member of the community.  He has served as a director or in other leadership roles for Annie Penn Memorial Hospital Foundation, Boy Scouts of America, the Chamber of Commerce, Crown Financial Ministries, Make-A-Wish, Myrtle Grove Christian School, North Carolina Community in Schools, North Carolina Wildlife Habitat Foundation, Partners for Economic Inclusion, United Way and the YMCA.

Holt replaces Billy Frank, who left the company to pursue other opportunities.  John Fox will continue in his role as chairman of the Mid-Atlantic region, focusing on community leadership, business development and helping Holt with a smooth transition.

“Over the course of his career Bill Holt has earned a wonderful reputation as a visionary banking industry leader in the Mid-Atlantic region and beyond,” said David Popwell, president of banking for First Tennessee’s parent company, First Horizon National Corp. (NYSE: FHN). “He has played a critical role in the development and implementation of our strategic plan in the Mid-Atlantic region, and I can think of no one better suited to lead this region that is such an important part of First Tennessee’s future.”
