25,000 square feet of shop space, two outparcels available at grocery-anchored center.

The Shopping Center Group, one of the largest, privately owned, retail real estate advisory firms in the United States with offices coast-to-coast, is in pursuit of retail and dining amenities for Main Street Market, a grocery-anchored retail center in the heart of Kernersville, NC. Darrell Palasciano and Matt Henry, leasing advisors in The Shopping Center Group’s Charlotte office, are the exclusive listing agents for this$20 million center that is currently under construction and expected to open the second quarter of 2017.

“The available space at Main Street Market is capturing the attention of unique, local and regional boutiques, salons, spas and family-friendly businesses with a desire to serve the community,” says Palasciano. “The center’s large patio spaces are ideal for signature restaurants that are seeking an established neighborhood that supports its local businesses.”

Located at Old Winston Road and Main Street, the 75,000-square foot Main Street Market is anchored by a 49,000-square foot Lowes Foods with an additional 25,000 square feet of space for retail and restaurants. Two outparcels along South Main Street are available for banks and fast casual restaurants as well.

“The center is designed around new road configurations that make this site the new ‘main and main’ for the market,” explains David Coia, president, Barclay Group, the firm developing the site. “The project has really brought new energy to the heart of Kernersville.”Some of the interest is due to Lowes Foods introducing its new store concept to the market. The new prototype features local and freshly prepared food offerings with a focus on the shoppers’ experience, he added.

Kernersville is located at the heart of the tri-city metropolitan area of Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem, NC. There are more than 60,000 residents within five miles with an average household income of $72,000. Traffic counts at the intersection of Interstate 40 and Hwy. 421 top 42,000 vehicles per day with South Main Street alone moving daily 35,000 vehicles.
