Bojangles’ Board Member Robert Alderson Dies at the Age of 70

11/28/16

A member of Bojangles’ Inc.’s board of directors passed away last week, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

Robert Alderson, 70, became a director of the company in April 2015 and has served as executive director of Kirkland’s Inc. since September 1986.

Alderson was member of the audit committee of the board, and the company is out of compliance with the NASDAQ rule requiring a certain number of outside board members on the audit committee.

The company said it is actively seeking out a new member for the board and the audit committee.

“Robert was a remarkable and valuable member of our board of directors and has made tremendous contributions to our company since first joining our board in April 2015,” said Clifton Rutledge, the Company’s president and CEO, in a statement.

Alderson is survived by his wife Jane and daughters Allison and Amy.

Shares of Bojangles fell 35 cents or 1.75 percent on Monday.
