President of Duke Energy’s Natural Gas Business Buys $1.1 Million in Company Stock

The president of Duke Energy Corp.’s natural gas business has purchased $1.1 million worth of stock in the company, according to a Nov. 22 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Frank H. Yoho purchased the 14,850 shares at a price of $74 per share, totaling $1.1 million, according to the Form 4, which can be found here.

Yoho, former senior vice president and chief commercial officer for Piedmont Natural Gas prior to its acquisition by Duke Energy in October, now owns 23,687 shares in the energy company.

On the same day of the purchase, Duke Energy agreed to pay a $1 million fine for spilling 9,000 gallons of diesel fuel into the Ohio River in 2014.

Earlier this month, the company reported earnings of $1.18 billion for the three months ending Sept. 30, up 26 percent from the same period a year ago and beating Wall Street expectations.

Duke Energy’s shares closed on Nov. 22 at $73.88, down 55 cents, or .74 percent, for the day.
