NK Patent Law Marks Continuing Growth with Sponsorship, Educational Programming

11/22/16

NK Patent Law, helping innovative startups and established technology companies protect and exploit their intellectual property assets as a competitive advantage, is marking a year of continuing growth and expansion by supporting North Carolina’s entrepreneurial community.

The firm is sponsoring the Council for Entrepreneurial Development (CED) Member Meet-Up & Holiday Social December 6 at Mez Contemporary Mexican restaurant in Durham, and is in the process of scheduling informative lunch and learn seminars in Winston-Salem.

“As the only intellectual property boutique law firm recognized as a strategic partner of CED, we have been longtime champions of CED’s contributions to the entrepreneurial community and they’ve been strong supporters of our firm and business approach,” said W. Lyle Gravatt, attorney at NK Patent Law and official Ambassador of CED.

Gravatt, who recently celebrated his second anniversary with the firm, has seen the firm grow in terms of clients as well as staff in 2016. Over the past year, the firm has served over 100 new clients who rely on NK Patent Law for legal needs extending across mechanical, electrical, computer software and biotech matters.

New members of the legal team getting up-and-running in 2016 include attorney Joseph Shin, working out of the firm’s new Winston-Salem office; attorney Ashley Johnson, focusing on chemical and biomedical patent concerns; patent agent Gregory Evans, focusing on electrical and computer patent concerns, and Sandra Hess, the firm’s patent paralegal.

NK Patent Law attorneys help clients build their patent and trademark portfolios in technologies including biotech, chemical, electrical, materials science, mechanical, medical devices, nuclear, renewable energy, and software among others.

Members of the NK Patent Law legal team will be on hand December 6 at the CED event to talk about the firm and share best practices with attendees. Sponsorship of the event is the latest example of how NK Patent Law continues to be active in Triangle-based CED, the largest and longest-running entrepreneurial network in the nation.

The organization recently announced the launch of its “WhyNC” Campaign, sharing stories from entrepreneurs who choose to grow their businesses in North Carolina. For more information on CED, visit www.cednc.org.
