Raleigh-based Tech Company Raises Nearly $8 Million

A Raleigh-based software company raised nearly $8 million from eight investors, according to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

K4Connect Inc. provides software solutions for older adults and individuals living with disabilities by integrating technologies into a single responsive system. It has products for residents and communities such as assisted living facilities.

The Form D was filed on Nov. 14. It did not disclose what the company intends to do with the proceeds. The offering is not expected to last more than one year.

K4Connect’s co-founder, F. Scott Moody, is an North Carolina State University graduate who co-founded AuthenTec, which Apple acquired for $365 million in 2012. AuthenTec created the fingerprint sensor technology that is used in Apple iPhones.

Founded in 2013, K4 Connect has seven employees named on its website.

The Form D, which can be found here, was signed by CEO F. Scott Moody on Nov. 14.
