The Novant Health Charlotte Marathon is helping put the Queen City on the map throughout running communities around the country as one of the nation’s premium marathon races. It was selected to be among only 16 marathon partners – out of 1,100 timed marathons throughout the United States – in the USA TODAY Sports Active Alliance presented by Mazda for its quality event, location and local ownership.
“This race and city of Charlotte fit exactly with what we were looking for in a strong marathon partner in the Southeast,” said Bruce Revman, commissioner of the USA TODAY Sports Active Alliance. “We chose Charlotte and the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon because of the event’s tremendous leadership and commitment to runners, the race is locally owned, the welcoming Charlotte community, the overall race experience and size of the event.”
The USA TODAY Sports Active Alliance is a network that brings together many of the nation’s finest independent marathons and half marathons under one roof to share best practices and get exposure to markets where they may not have been able to reach. It is designed to allow marketers to efficiently navigate media, marketing and sponsorship opportunities through one centralized source.

The USA TODAY Sport Active Alliance will be part of the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon on Saturday, Nov. 12.
