RALEIGH, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, today unveiled plans to expand its footprint to Boston. At its new facility, located at 300 A Street in the Fort Point neighborhood of Boston’s Seaport District, Red Hat plans to bring open source to life in new ways, with a world-class Executive Briefing Center, the first U.S. east coast location for Red Hat Open Innovation Labs, and a new Red Hat Engineering Lab. The facility is expected to open in mid-2017.

Red Hat, which was recently named one of the world's most innovative companies by Forbes, has a long history in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, with its existing 175,000 square foot worldwide engineering and product headquarters located in Westford, Mass. The Boston facility will add 40,000 square feet to Red Hat’s footprint in Massachusetts. Boston was rated as one of the world’s best tech hubsin 2015 by Expert Market, a business consulting firm, and is home to several world-class universities. With its presence in Seaport, Red Hat plans to be an active member of the Boston technology community.
