Bradley Named A 2016 Best Law Firm For Women

7/26/16

Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been named one of the 2016 Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers 50 Best Law Firms for Women. Bradley was selected for its family-friendly policies, talent cultivation, business development initiatives, and best practices that retain women by advancing them into leadership roles.

“We are proud to be named to this prestigious list for the third year,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Beau Grenier. “At Bradley, we strive to create a culture that stimulates ambition, promotes equality, supports management of work and family responsibilities, and provides leadership opportunities. It is an honor to be recognized as such, and to be affiliated with like-minded firms and organizations.”

Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers co-founded the Best Law Firms for Women initiative in 2007 to recognize firms that lead the industry in initiatives for women’s business development and career advancement, plus offer flexible work arrangements and generous paid parental leave, among other important benefits. The complete list of the 2016 honorees can be seen here.

“We would like to congratulate each of this year’s winners and to thank the founders of Best Law Firms for Women for this recognition,” said Bradley Partner Tracy Thompson, who leads Bradley’s women’s program, the Winn Initiative. “We are very proud of our Winn Initiative and its programs, which are dedicated to enhancing the engagement, development, advancement and success of our female attorneys. We believe these efforts ultimately benefit all our lawyers, our firm and our clients.”

Bradley’s Winn Initiative is named after Ellene Winn, a remarkable lawyer by all accounts and the first female partner in a firm of any size in the South. The Winn Initiative’s multi-generational mentoring groups and family-friendly client events are examples of efforts designed to foster an environment of inclusiveness. Furthering the effort to build its ranks of female leaders, the firm has regularly enrolled female lawyers in the Momentum women’s leadership program, where they participate in an intense nine-month leadership development workshop.

Working Mother and Flex-Time Lawyers’ Best Law Firms show how to make it work. Despite intense pressures, the success of the firms in creating workable solutions for working families shows their commitment and ingenuity to create a progressive future for their firms,” said Jennifer Owens, editorial director of Working Mother Media.

Deborah Epstein Henry, president of Flex-Time Lawyers LLC, added, “In reflecting on the decade since we began the Best Law Firms for Women initiative, we are pleased to see firms competing to make their environments more hospitable for women to both work and thrive. The greater level of awareness and commitment to make change is what will enable women to propel to the next level.”
