Smith Anderson Partner Kirk Warner has been elected to the Board of Governors of the North Carolina Bar Association. His three-year term on the 21-member Board will begin in July.
The Board of Governors provides leadership to the North Carolina Bar Association under the direction of a president. Members of the Board of Governors also serve on the Board of Directors for the NCBA’s closely held foundation, the NCBA Foundation, Inc.
An active participant in local and legal organizations, Kirk presently serves on the Board of Directors of the North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys and as president of the Rotary Club of Raleigh. He chairs the NCBA’s Military and Veterans Affairs Committee, which is now the NCBA’s Military and Veterans Law Section. He is also a commissioner on the N.C. Military Affairs Commission and the N.C. Equal Access to Justice Commission.
As leader of the Product Liability Defense practice group at Smith Anderson and a senior litigator in the firm’s Commercial Litigation team, Kirk has extensive national trial experience. In 2013, Kirk retired as colonel from the Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Army after 33 years of military service.
