CHARLOTTE, N.C., June 17, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Effective June 8, 2016, following its annual meeting of stockholders, Bojangles’, Inc. (NASDAQ:BOJA) named William A. Kussell to the position of Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Kussell assumes the role from James (“Randy”) Kibler, who will continue to serve as a director on the company’s Board.

Mr. Kussell, Bojangles’ Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, commented, “Randy has been an invaluable member of the Bojangles’ family for nearly a decade, having served as president and chief executive officer for many years before transitioning to his role of director and non-executive chairman of the board in February 2014. Mr. Kussell has served as a director on the company’s Board since August 2011. Since January 2010, Mr. Kussell has served as an operating partner of, and a consultant to, Advent International Corporation (“Advent”), a private equity firm and Bojangles’ largest stockholder. Prior to joining Advent, Mr. Kussell worked for Dunkin' Brands, Inc. (now Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc.) (“Dunkin’ Brands”) for 15 years, including serving as president and chief brand officer of Dunkin' Donuts Worldwide from January 2008 to December 2009. Mr. Kussell was also a member of the Board of Directors of Dunkin' Brands, from 2006 to 2009. From November 2013 to June 2015, Mr. Kussell served as a member of the board of directors of Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, a specialty coffee and tea retailer and café. Mr. Kussell has served as a member of the board of directors of Extended Stay America, a national hospitality business, since November 2010, and as a member of the board of directors of Modell’s Sporting Goods, a national sporting goods retailer, since November 2009.
