The Novant Health Charlotte Marathon is kicking off its training program – RUN FAR – on Saturday, June 4.
The 24-week summer/fall program is part of the RUN FOR YOU program and is open to all levels of runner to prepare them for longer distance races. The training sessions will take place at all three Run For Your Life locations – Midtown (901 S. Kings Drive), South Charlotte/Piper Glen (6416 Rea Road) and University (1816 East Arbors Drive).
“It’s important to train properly and safely to ensure a successful long-distance race and to prevent injury,” said Tim Rhodes, race director of the Novant Health Charlotte Marathon, which is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 12 in Charlotte. “RUN FAR is a fantastic training program that makes running fun, safe and rewarding. The best part is that it culminates with the Charlotte Marathon.”
Participation in the RUN FAR program includes: a customized, weekly training schedule; educational seminars; and Run For You Performance T-shirt; weekly e-communication; and discounts at Run For Your Life Stores and at Run For Your Life-owned events while in the training program.
Program runners and walkers will be grouped with other similar abilities and goals. Cost is $170 per person. Register online at http://runcharlotte.com/runners/training/. For questions, email email@example.com or call 704-358-0713.
