Research Triangle Park, NC - First Flight Venture Center (FFVC) is now accepting new applications for the next round of start-up companies. FFVC has been successfully incubating technology companies since 1991, with a substantial success rate and close to $1B in economic impact.
"We are graduating a number of successful tenants this summer," indicates President Andy Schwab. "Our goal is to bring companies into our incubator at the early stage of their company and give them the tools necessary to graduate as a free-standing business within a two to three year time-frame. We are also excited to see them move from idea to commercialization."
A wide array of critical resources are provided for any start-up company at FFVC. Each tenant receives a fully-equipped office space or wet-lab space(s), 24/7 access to the building, videoconferencing and access to four (4) conference rooms with a range of space for up to 75 people. Standard tenant's leases also include internet, fax machines, phones, printer and copy services.
In addition to office space, FFVC also provides wet laboratory space ranging from 115 - 400 sq. ft. Standard wet labs include a hood(s), sinks, benches, cabinets plus access to critical components such as flake ice maker, autoclave, and dishwasher. Tenants may also lease additional tools including -80 degree freezers, refrigerated ultrafuge, photo-spectrometers and other industry-specific equipment.
First Flight is a true incubator community with subject matter experts on-site who offer business and legal advice on a daily basis. FFVC offers tenants a sense of community and support with 40 tenant companies from all domains working together to share common experiences. Tenants may take advantage of multiple programs such as formalized seminars, Lunch & Learn's, access to the CED FastTrac series, company specific mentoring and networking events.
